Despite his line's reputation, Izzy is a startlingly calm Pokemon and it takes a lot to get his temper up or scare her- a difference between him and his trainer. When he was smaller, he preferred to run around on all fours and also cling to Garry's shoulders. This has become pretty much impossible since he's evolved, of course.
Garry doesn't particularly like the idea of letting Izzy run around in the wild so much to just randomly battle Wild Pokemon, but the Charizard is fairly determined to grow stronger. In contrast to Garry's hesitance, Izzy is highly competitive even for being calm and longs to grow more powerful.
He has a deep hatred for Red Eyes, who brutally beat him down in Tohjo Falls and thus ensured that he wasn't able to protect his trainer. The two of them have become fiercely competitive and both evolved nearly at the same time on 4-26-2014. In contrast, the young Flareon Haze is someone he is very protective over. Some friend competition is happening between him and the Cyndaquil Grady.
Outside of his team, the Charizard also admires Riku's Charizard Flare and is extremely pleased that he's now a little closer to becoming that kind of Pokemon.

While initially a rather lazy Pokemon who preferred napping on Garry's lap to any sort of battling, that's all changed since Izzy first evolved into a Charmeleon. Since then, Grady has shaken herself off and started to slowly improve herself. A bit of competition, it looks like.
It seems like she's slowly starting to catch up, as she evolved into a Quilava on the 4/12 of 2014. She evolved into a Typhlosion sometime in the first week of June... and then refused to train anymore, since she didn't think it counted with Izzy out of the picture.

But he's sure it's just a misunderstanding. Right?
Possibly because he's been happily raised around fire type Pokemon, on 4-14 of 2014, Haze decided to take the plunge and evolve into a Flareon. He's quite happy with this turnout.
Garry has never ever EVER wanted a Ghost type Pokemon. Unfortunately, this particular Banette doesn't care about what Garry wants. It certainly didn't when he went to visit Toujo Falls on April 5th just for the Prom and basically attached itself to him.
Red Eyes is madly infatuated with Garry, basically falling for him at first sight. Despite his best efforts, she refuses to be cast aside and will determinedly search for him wherever he goes. She wants to be his best and only prized possession, and thus deeply dislikes his other Pokemon along with his other traveling companions although she hasn't caused TOO much trouble just yet. The fact that he deeply adores that girl Ib and that rose of his is something that really fluffs her stuffing something awful, but she also truly covets the blue rose he has. Her efforts have been foiled lately as Garry has regularly been applying Repel to it.
Out of all of Garry's Pokemon, she seems to despise Izzy the most and adores getting on the fire type's nerves. Because she's been a higher level than him, she hasn't worried too much and has been able to consistently beat him... But not too long ago she realized he was starting to catch up and thus began to train just as hard. (Even if Garry didn't exactly want her to be training with them.) Her and Izzy thus evolved at nearly the exact same time, but she's still just one step ahead of him so far and loves rubbing this in his face.
A fearless young Pokemon who doesn't seem intimidated at all by all these higher level fluff balls that are around her. She hopes to improve herself, enamored with the tales Garry has told her of Cynthia's own Garchomp.

Once the calm and kind partner to one determined wizard Marcia Overstand, this Lapras found his way to Garry after the proud woman disappeared in April on the 21st. While sad to see the older woman go, as she had been one of the few also interested in leaving Johto to go back home, Garry will do his best to take care of her starter. As Marcia never named the Lapras, he's come to calling him 'Skye'.
When Kaede left on May 2nd in 2014, Garry found this little one in his PC. Named Kaigo with Chihiro's help, which means "Caregiver". She's taken over as something of the matriarch of the group, and is Haze's mother. She and Rida get along very well as the two leaders of the Kaede group, and don't mind working together with Izzy.

The most composed and elegant out of Kaede's old team, he's kept that way even now that he's been transferred into Garry's care. He still misses her, but he's resolved himself to keep steady with the other Pokemon not being as put together. Because Kaede trusted Garry, Rida does as well. Being a Psychic-type, he's able to communicate with others... but he only does so when he's spoken to and makes no attempt to really reach out himself.

A very mellow and easygoing Pokemon that goes with the flow, Kawa tends to live very much in the now and can be easily distracted by his troubles by positive attention like petting. He inevitably remembers them again, of course, but he tries not to let them bother him.
When Kaede left on May 2nd in 2014, Garry found this little one in his PC. Named Hana with the help of Chihiro, which means "flower". She's an exceedingly shy Pokemon who doesn't know how to handle compliments, and tends to hide behind her wings and other people's legs despite being so large.
Got all mixed up in the confusion of Fourth Wall on 5/30 and ended up flying into Garry when he went out to help Yukio Okumura in Azalea. Thanks to the rescue, she's grown fond of him. She very quickly evolved into a Combusken not long after, and then hit her final form as a Blaziken.
An almost stereotypical Growlithe who evolved into an almost stereotypical Arcanine when Garry evolved him on the 4th of July. He's very mild mannered but fiercely loyal Pokemon, and, while not necessarily a hardass, he doesn't tolerate any B.S. from the team much like Rida.
"Originally Mary's starter, 'Loony is affectionate and very easygoing. When not in her Pokeball or in battle, she tends to float aimlessly about, quite content to just be. However, she's become very attentive to her name and will come whenever called; changing it would be a difficult, if not outright impossible task, were anyone to try."

This one followed Garry, Ib, and Ib's "Kitty" all the way back home with more stubbornness than tiny odd cats really should have. She seemed determined to stay, so stay she has ever since.
A gentle but sweet dog who Garry found underneath a park bench, no doubt startled after falling out of the sky. She latched onto the small bit of kindness he showed her, and she's not left him since.
As far as Garry can tell, Zap has survived: falling down a chimney, being chased by a small horde of Houndour, losing the end of his tail to closing train doors, falling down an elevator shaft, and getting stuck in a mailbox. He's certainly beat up for all of that and more. Still, Garry can't help but be fond of the thing.
God help this poor boy. Saran has gotten the idea that Red Eyes is a perfect role model to cling about to, and Garry doesn't know how to convince him of otherwise.
Despite the Klefki reputation of being jangly and noisy, Kara doesn't seem too much like that at all. She seems thankful just to be with someone like Garry who isn't loud or aggravated with her presence, and tries to keep out of the way.
