I got rather fortunate. The kimono I arrived in was positively beautiful, but it's not very practical for traveling.

[This sure is a new face appearing on the network, seated at a window seat in a cafe. The way the 'Gear is positioned shows Cherrygrove outside, so it's clear he's done a little traveling. The bandana tied around his arm and the green apron he's wearing identify him as a shiny new breeder. There's a little Charmander on his shoulder, too.]

Let me introduce myself. My name is Garry- I'm a friend of Ib's if you happen to know her. We arrived in Cherrygrove not too long ago. I was hoping now that I've gotten... a little used to things, maybe someone could answer a few questions I have.

I'm apparently a "breeder", or at least that's what it seems to say in this handbook I was given. I've read through it, so I think I have a decent idea of what to do.. It seems Izzy here- [A point to the Charmander.] - is in the 'Monster' and 'Dragon' groups, right? What sort of Pokemon are good to breed in those groups? Or... if you don't know, what are your favorite to breed? Any sort of tips would be appreciated.

I got an egg not too long ago- [He adjusts the camera to show the little egg on his lap.] Cyndaquil is in the... field group, I believe. I know it doesn't match, but I thought maybe it would be for the best if I didn't jump into things right away. Pokemon being 'just friends' seems like a good start before I start to breed them.

[He'd much rather be home... But when in Rome, right?]

Also, I've heard there are some people who have been here for quite some time. If you'd like to talk, I'm curious about some things.

Hmmmm...berries. Do try and avoid eating wild berries. Your pokemon will be fine, but they aren't for you.

Oh, that's good to know. I was worried about having to feed mine when we were on the road.

Pokemon are quite good at taking care of themselves. They were doing just fine before they joined our teams after all!

That's true, isn't it? The ones I'm familiar with just seem so small, I'd forgotten they could protect themselves. [And others, judging by how protective Izzy has been over him...]

Dragons with dragons are pretty safe. For breeding.

I've heard, but... do they all grow so big?

Woah woah, I don't need the money really.. my dad earns enough money for both of us.

Really? Goodness, are you sure? I'd feel guilty if I accepted something so rare for nothing...

You'd be surprised! My Edgar can take down a Pokemon several times her size.

Really? What kind of Pokemon is she?

She is a Murkrow-- my very first Pokemon. It's not about their size, it's about how well they're trained and how well they get along with you.

I see... Does training make them happy? Izzy did seem to be into battling...

[That Charmander line competitive streak peaks up even in the calmer ones, it seems.]

Most of them do! Every pokemon is different...I have a few who are just as happy laying in front of the fireplace.

I hope I get a few of those, then... But until that happens, would you have any training tips?

[He doesn't particularly want to battle, but it seems like something that will end up happening anyway if every route is filled with wild Pokemon. If they have to do this, he'd rather they be safe.]

Nah it's not that big of a deal. But if you could find a way for us to get home, that would be great.

Yeah... They kind of grow big. I don't think I've seen a tiny one... Maybe Kingdra?

Kinda looks like a funky seahorse.

That doesn't sound too bad... I think I'd like to keep things small and manageable here, as best I can.

Then you probably wanna reconsider breeding dragons. Altaria might be the smallest one... Flygon gets nearly seven feet.

Some of the monster ones are pretty big too. Field types are probably best.

[Sighing, he pokes his Charmander lightly on the nose.]

You're causing a little bit of trouble for me... Anyway, thank you. I suppose I'll wait for this egg to hatch before I start breeding anything. That seems like it might be for the best.

No problem. I'm a breeder too... Even if I don't do a lot of that right now.

Er... I've not left New Bark Town yet.

[She clears her throat, trying to pass it off as no big deal, like she's totally fine with just staying in one spot and not embarrassed over it in the slightest.]

Thankfully, the clothes I arrived in are rather warm.
