artificialrose | 4th Petal // Video

It's unfortunate, isn't it, when people you've grown to like suddenly disappear in quick succession. I'd grown to enjoy their company, but I suppose that's how this place is, isn't it?

[It's just... Garry's first time experiencing it. He gives a sigh, video showing him seated outside somewhere this morning with one hand petting a Gible in his lap while the other dangles a lolipop. Just something to keep his mouth occupied since the urge for a smoke was particularly strong today.]

A few more Pokemon were suddenly found in my PC with Marcia and Kaede leaving. I wonder how that works? [He gives a shake of his head and offers the network a soft smile.] But... onto brighter topics.

First of all, I've made a new version of a coat I was very fond of back home. [Yes, he knows it's tattered here and there, but it's stylishly tattered. Big difference.] Secondly-

[He shifts the video to show a Charizard swooping through the air over the ocean near Goldenrod. He seems to be showing off to the Lapras that's lounging down below.]

Izzy evolved not too long ago into his final stage! He's very pleased about it and- [A Shadow Ball is suddenly tossed at Izzy, who dodges it and gives an angry roar. Garry sighs and shifts the camera to show a Banette on the docks, pointing and cackling.] ...Red Eyes evolved as well. She's even worse looking now, and she won't let up on tormenting Izzy.

[He shakes his head, ignoring the sound of conflict.]

Those two... Anyway, I've also been doodling a few outfit ideas just to past the time. If anyone's interested, this is what I've sketched out so far. [He holds up a sketchbook, with a set of four pictures shown.] What do you think? I know it's not much but, as I said, it's just something I've been doing in my spare time for fun.

She was a Shuppet before, but now she's evolved into a Banette. Her previous form... It basically looked like a little handkerchief doll, except disturbing.

Then why keep her?

[Lord even Kuzuryuu wouldn't say he despises any of his Pokémon. Even his Ariados, who quite possibly one of the most obnoxious bugs in existence. That's some serious shit, man. Why keep that around?]

So she's one of those ghost types then? Where'd you find her? [He...kind of wants one. What the hell, Kuzuryuu. Why.]

I've tried releasing her into the wild, but she is very insistent on staying with me so she's always come back.

I ran into her while I was at the Prom.... Her and Izzy got into a fight after she wouldn't stop following us or stealing something important to me.

Ah, one of those...shoulda guessed. My Ariados was the same way when she was a Spinarak. Why not put her in the box then? It's about the only place they can't follow you from.

I think they've become rivals... But since they're both my strongest Pokemon, I've been a bit hesitant to put away Izzy.

However, since I have Kaede's team now, I suppose I do have an excuse...

[Izzy and Red Eyes take a moment away from glaring at each other to look at Garry in alarm. WHAT NO THEY DIDN'T AGREE TO THIS]

So those drawings from earlier...what are they, based on Pokemon or something? That third one kinda reminds me of Eevee.

Yes, they are. A Charmander, a Lapras, an Eevee, and a Buneary to be exact- even if more just in color than anything.

[It's so hard though, you don't understand. Socializing without getting angry is so damn hard.]

Buneary? Ah...I kinda thought it was that other thing...the uh...what's it called...that fucking zigzag weasel thing, you know? [Zigzagoon, Kuzuryuu. The Pokemon you're thinking of is Zigzagoon. So close.]

Anyway, are those all Pokémon you've got then?

I know what you're talking about, I saw some of those when we were traveling. I'm afraid I can't recall the name myself.

[There are over 400 of the things, okay, he can't remember all of them]

Well, I have a Lapras and an Eevee now... But they used to belong to two people who left not that long ago. [See: the start of this post.] The Buneary belongs to my friend, Ib.

So you're looking to become some kind of Pokémon fashion designer or something? I guess that's not a half bad idea though...given how hyper focused the people here are when it comes to Pokémon...

That's right. If nothing else, I think that even if I restricted myself to selling to the locals, I might still be able to sustain myself and I quite well.

That's one of the things about designing clothes- know who you're selling to. Different people want all sorts of things, depending on their personalities and their jobs. You can actually tell a lot about them that way.

[He may or may not be trying to get a good idea of what you're wearing, actually, Kuzuryuu. Hey, he means what he says.]

[A suit, Garry. He's wearing a suit...like always. It doesn't matter what the weather is like, apparently the answer is always suit. Or at least dress shirt and pants. The jacket can be skipped if it's really that hot out.]

Heh, you're not wrong. Appearance is a big part of first impressions. Never really thought about it in the sense of selling clothes, but then again that's not really my thing.

You do seem like the sort of person who knows how to make them! Is that your own personal style, then, or something picked up from your family?

Well, it's something that not everyone can get into. Still as long as people are always interested in clothing, then it's an industry that'll always survive one way or another.
