7th Petal // Video

[Something just occurred to him as he was in the middle of brushing his new poodle-dog, so Garry decides to turn on the SFC to voice his thoughts to the network while he continues. At least the Furfrou looks content.]

For everyone who's been here since April... Do you all remember the prom? It was exciting- and exhausting since I'd done some commissions- but there were so many apparently very important people there... And that enormous library.

I remember being there, along with a friend, trying to see if there were any notes or books that could tell us about our predicament since the two of us were still new. Marcia and I never did seem to find anything about that... But I recall reading some notes that I suppose were written by the host. They seemed to talk about a new type of Pokemon.

I can't imagine what a new type would look like... I mean, we seem to have a good balance already, don't you think? There's 17, which is, ah... [He pauses in his dog grooming to count on his fingers as he remembers.] Fire, Ghost, Water, Normal, Dragon, Ground, Ice, Psychic, Flying, Fighting... Grass and Poison.. Electric, Rock, Bug... Dark? And one more... Ah, that's right, Steel. I can't possibly imagine what a eighteenth type could even be.

So I suppose I have two questions. The first is, if you could somehow come up with a Pokemon type of your own, what would it be?

The second... [The Furfrou suddenly acts up, leaning closer to lick at his face. Garry laughs slightly.] Does anyone have any dog grooming tips?

Yeah.

But if they could battle, they would have to have some sort of ability too.

Unknown?

[That probably means no.]

[Wow, someone looks like they belong in the circus.]

Yes, I recall taking those notes as well. Some type of - POKEMON! Not yet discovered but resistant to dragon types.

Me? I'd come up with a - FAIRY! Type but that's me. [And his obsession with those.]

As for your second question, are you talking about something 'fancy'?

[She giggles a little at the fumble; oh Garry, you are si silly and not at all having a totally rational response to Nui popping up on your Pokegear.]

With scissors and dye, silly! And of course it's lovely, I was the one who did it, after all.

[She turns the camera back to herself, but the two Furfrou follow, looking over Nui's shoulders at the feed. It's not clear whether they're actually interested or just want to show off their grooming some more, amateur effort or not.]

They both seemed very eager to be groomed, so I decided to see how far I could take it before they got fussy.

[She hasn't hit their limit yet, at least.]

The rest was just looking at dog grooming cuts from Paris.

[And the Pokémon grooming information she found in Azalea abd Goldenrod's libraries, but like hell she's actually mentioning any real effort put into her work.]

It's perfect! How did you know she was a fire type, Garry?

Interesting....

[She considered it for a moment, then nodded.]

I guess I'll have to go there sometime. Sounds like these pokemon are pretty strong then.

Oh! I see it now!

You're good at noticing things like that, Garry! I never would have!

If they're that mysterious, then they're probably worth investigating at least.

Yeah, I'll let you know.

[When he does, Nui will either act as though she had no idea what Garry is talking about or pretend it's a massive coincidence.]

Oh, it's just as varied as the fashions!

[This, at least, she's not totally bullshitting. Even if she never paid special attention to it, there WERE quite a lot of fancy dog-cuts in the fashion world. Sometimes as living accessories, sometimes just pets for models and designers.]

Some people even groomed digs to look like other animals entirely, but that always seemed a little gaudy to me.

But it's true! Even.....

Even in the gallery.....

I don't think we could have done it on our own....I'm glad we found each other.

Me too.

That certainly seemed to be the case! It was more about showing off the groomer than making the dog look good.

[Spoken like someone who DOESN'T show off at every opportunity.]

Sometimes it was to accessorize an outfit being shown on the runway, but even that's a little tacky compared to just getting whatever animal you actually want.
