[Yet another friend having disappeared- a young girl he'd promised to be there for- has had Garry in a bit of a quiet mood, although never enough that he'll forget Ib. It had hurt for Saionji's promise of coming back after the storm to go unfulfilled, and to find all those Pokemon in his and Ib's PC...]

[And then today he'd gone out aaaaand-]

It's Free Ice Cream Day! [Garry is thrilled.] That's just the sort of thing I think we all need after everything! Ib, we should take Saionji's Pokemon and see if we can't cheer them up with some!

[And something for themselves, of course.]

If anyone else is in Goldenrod, we should meet up! It looks like the weather is beautiful, so there's no better time to meet new people as well.

[And indeed- Garry is seated at one of the outdoor seats of an ice cream parlor with Saionji's Pokemon out enjoying treats of their own. Saionji's Pokemon have been... a handful, but it looks like this has managed to distract them for now.]

I found an egg in my PC this morning. It was hers, I think, but....I thought...she just gave it to me or something cause she didn't want it.

[Jimmy smiles a little, nodding quickly.]

Oh- of course. I'll take good care of it. Saionji was my friend, after all.

Oh aha, well thanks! My name's Jimmy. This is Honey, Leader, Cherry, and Solstice.

[He says, pointing to the Buneary, Manectric, Furret, and Eevee in turn.]

It's nice to meet you, Jimmy! My name is Garry. [He holds out his hand to shake.] I'd introduce you to my Pokemon, but I let them take a rest while I went here with Saionji's.

[He shakes Garry's hand enthusiastically with the hand not holding his ice cream, nodding in understanding.]

S'ok! I'm sure I'll get to meet them some other time.

Can you believe it's free ice cream day? How cool is that?

It's great! I didn't think Johto would do a holiday like this. It seems like the longer I'm here, the more I'm surprised.

It's really nice! And, I mean, who doesn't like ice cream?

[There's a murmur of consent among the Pokemon following him, and Honey lets out a little squeak of happiness after finishing off her Poffin.]

Um, let's see! Since...February, so 'bout six months now! How 'bout you?

Oh, you've been here longer than me then. I only arrived around... March, I think. Time really flies by here.

Yeah, it does, doesn't it? It feels like I just got here yesterday, to tell you the truth.

There's no shortage of things to do here, so I imagine that helps. Are you going after those badge challenges I've heard about?

Totally! I've already gotten the Zephyr and Fog Badges! I wanna try for the Mineral Badge next, yaknow- the gym in Olivine!

Congratulations! Good luck with getting it- I've heard they can be pretty touch.

Oh yeah, definitely. It's getting easier though, 'specially cause I've been training a lot with my team.

Have you challenged any gyms?

Oh no! I'm a breeder... so I've been focusing more on that than anything.

But... Is it true that you get unique TMs or HMs from the gyms?

That's right! So far I've gotten...Strength, Shadow Ball, and Roost. I haven't used any of them yet though, but I'm sure I'll figure out who to use them on soon!

[Besides, Strength will probably come in handy.]

Maybe I'll try it out as well. I mean, if nothing else, it can't hurt to try!

I think you should! It's really fun, and my Pokemon all really like it.

Though breeding sounds pretty cool too. ...Kinda hard, probably. But cool!

Yes, we have to be careful with who our Pokemon hang out with when we're not paying attention... They can be surprisingly quick to breed.

[Hmm, might be something he wants to pay attention to to avoid future incidents.

Haha, yeah I bet. That's so cool, though! Can trainers breed Pokemon, too? Or is that just for breeders?
