6th Petal // Video - Action for Goldenrod

[Yet another friend having disappeared- a young girl he'd promised to be there for- has had Garry in a bit of a quiet mood, although never enough that he'll forget Ib. It had hurt for Saionji's promise of coming back after the storm to go unfulfilled, and to find all those Pokemon in his and Ib's PC...]

[And then today he'd gone out aaaaand-]

It's Free Ice Cream Day! [Garry is thrilled.] That's just the sort of thing I think we all need after everything! Ib, we should take Saionji's Pokemon and see if we can't cheer them up with some!

[And something for themselves, of course.]

If anyone else is in Goldenrod, we should meet up! It looks like the weather is beautiful, so there's no better time to meet new people as well.

[Action]

[And indeed- Garry is seated at one of the outdoor seats of an ice cream parlor with Saionji's Pokemon out enjoying treats of their own. Saionji's Pokemon have been... a handful, but it looks like this has managed to distract them for now.]

Oh! Free Ice Cream Day? That sounds wonderful!

[Hello, Garry. That is a very chubby baby land shark sitting in Chihiro's lap, his jaws half open as he reaches his stumpy arms out, trying to take hold of the Gear in his trainer's hands. It's hard to tell if he's excited by the prospect of ice cream, or if he wants to get that Gear and see if he can fit it into his mouth.]

[Knowing Gibles, probably both. Garry seems happy to see it's in good health, however.]

It is! We should meet up, Chihiro.

[Chihiro giggles softly, holding the Gear a bit further out to keep the Gible from getting hold of it.]

I'd like that, Garry-kun. Where are you right now?

Near the center of town- I've heard there's a really good ice cream parlor around here but I've never gotten a chance to try it. I suppose now is as good a time as any!

I don't think that's too far away from home. I'll meet you there soon!

[And with that Chihiro cuts the feed and leaves to let the baby play outside with Shiruku and Chica to keep watch over him while Chihiro's gone.

Eventually he arrives at the parlor with an Abra hovering in his wake, and a Linoone, Flareon, and Growlithe following on the ground. The Linoone seems particularly eager to get to where they're going, running on ahead and eagerly sniffing the air.

Before Chihiro can get over properly, the Linoone lopes over to where Garry's seated outside, unceremoniously shoving his head into his lap and looking up at the ice cream he's no doubt got in his hand.]

A-ah-! Isamu, wait!

Oh-!

[Garry leans back a bit in surprise as some of Saionji's Pokemon perk up, but Garry waves them to go back to eating their ice cream. The Ampharos still looks a bit concerned, however.]

It's alright... I'm just a bit surprised. [To Isamu-] If you go inside with Chihiro, you can get one of your own, you know.

[Isamu's ears perk and he lifts his head to see Chihiro already making a move for the door with the others, and quickly he takes off, as if he thinks the ice cream will be gone before he can get any.

After a few minutes Chihiro comes back outside, Isamu already emerging with the stains of ice cream all around his muzzle before he could even get out the door with it.]

I'm very sorry about that, Garry-kun. Isamu really likes getting treats...

[That, and he's learned the awful habit of begging for food.]

It's perfectly fine! Sometimes it seems like Pokemon are a bit like children... So when you think of it that way, it's no surprise that they get excited over things like this!

[He gestures for Chihiro to come and sit at the table with him.]

I'm glad to see the Gible egg hatched! What name did you decide on?

[Chihiro walks over, sliding his hands beneath his skirt to straighten it before sitting down.]

I named him Horu. Because, he....well, he likes to dig in the backyard an awful lot, like you said he might.

[Garry laughs again.]

Gibles are partially ground type, so that sort of thing suits him! Maybe we can meet up again next week so his parents can see him. I'm sure he has a lot to learn from Bice. He hasn't been giving you any trouble, has he?

[Chihiro nods, taking a bite of his ice cream.]

I think he would like that very much. And other than the digging, not too much...though I have to watch him to make sure he doesn't chew on the furniture or anyone's belongings while he's inside.

Well, hopefully it's a habit he'll grow out of. With teeth as pointy as those, I guess it's inevitable that he's a bit bitey. Dogs and cats can be like that too...

I wonder if they make chew toys for Pokemon?

Hmm...I would think so...I haven't actually looked around to see. Then again, I've never had a dog or cat before either, so this is all still rather new for me...

Why don't we look around after we finish our ice cream? If you're not busy with anything else, of course.

I'm not busy! Shiruku and Chica are watching Horu and the others for me back home, so I don't have to hurry or anything.

Great! Just give me a moment- I need to let Saionji's Pokemon finish eating. I'm not sure if they'll listen to my completely, yet.

[...?]

...Did....did Saionji-san leave?

[Garry's gaze shifts away and the mood around him seems to shift.]

Yes... Right after the hurricane. Ib and I found her Pokemon in our PCs.

[Chihiro is quiet for a moment, keeping his eyes on his ice cream as he idly turns his spoon with his fingers.]

I see...I....I suppose she went home, then.

[...the question is, what is home for Saionji? Or does she have nothing to go back to...]

[There's a morose nod.]

She'd told me she was in a frightening situation back home... I hope she can escape it.

[~~Ssshhh, no one spoil the ending for him~~]

[Chihiro falls silent, still staring at his ice cream.]

Mm...y-yes. ...Hopefully...

[Garry tries to shake his head so he can stop thinking about it.]

I'm sorry, I shouldn't bring up such a gloomy subject especially now that the weather has taken a turn for the better.

Oh no...it's okay. Please don't worry about it.

[Chihiro...feels guilty more than sad, really. He's suddenly worried about the prospect of being suddenly taken away from this place, like Saionji.

...but yes. Let's not think about that.]

Do you think you will be okay, taking care of so many Pokemon?

I... think I should be. It should be easier once we get a house, which is what Ib and I are saving up for.

Honestly, I think I have more Pokemon handed down to me from people leaving than Pokemon I've chosen...

Having a house will help a lot. I know it does for me.
